Built for every FERS decision on the table right now

Regular retirement, early-outs, or walking away and deferring — the calculator handles each path with the actual OPM formulas.

Planning a normal retirement

See your annuity at MRA+30, 60+20, or 62+5 — including the 1.1% bonus multiplier at 62 with 20 years, sick-leave credit, and what a survivor election really costs.

Facing a RIF, VERA, or early-out

Offered the early retirement authority? Model a VERA annuity at 50+20 or any age with 25 years, when your supplement starts, and how it compares to staying.

Leaving government early

Five or more years in? Compare a deferred annuity with an immediate MRA+10 calculation, then review the postponement and FEHB rules before choosing a start date.

Make the decision with your own estimate

VERA, RIF, and deferred-resignation decisions can arrive on short deadlines. The calculator gives you an independent estimate while you wait for your agency's official figures.

Compare your annuity, supplement, and the value of working longer before you answer an early-out offer or set a separation date.

How your FERS pension is actually calculated

Your FERS basic annuity is 1% of your high-3 average salary for each year of creditable service. Retire at age 62 or later with at least 20 years and the multiplier rises to 1.1% — a permanent 10% raise that makes "one more year" worth real money for many feds. Unused sick leave converts to extra service credit (2,087 hours = 1 year) in the computation.

If you retire before 62 under the MRA+10 provision, your annuity is reduced 5% for every year you are under 62 — but the supplement disappears too, which surprises a lot of people. Under a VERA early-out (age 50 with 20 years, or any age with 25), there is no age reduction, and the Special Retirement Supplement begins at your MRA.

The FERS Special Retirement Supplement bridges some retirees to Social Security. Our estimate uses your age-62 Social Security benefit × ((rounded civilian FERS years, capped at 40) ÷ 40). It ends around age 62 under OPM's month-of-entitlement rules. The 2026 earnings limit is $24,480, with a $1 reduction for every $2 of earned income over the limit. TSP withdrawals don't count. For eligible special-provision retirees, the earnings test begins at MRA.

Our calculator runs all of these rules — multipliers, reductions, sick leave, survivor elections, the supplement and its earnings test, diet-COLA projections — using the formulas published by OPM. Read the full methodology, or run your own numbers free.

The calculator is free. Paid reports start at $29.

Common questions

Is this calculator really free?
Yes — eligibility, your net monthly pension, the supplement estimate, and the income preview chart to age 70 are free with no account. We charge only for the in-depth PDF reports (from $29).
Is my data safe?
The free calculation runs in your browser. If you buy a report, the inputs needed to create the PDF are sent securely to our server. We do not ask for your SSN, agency login, or card number. Stripe handles payment details.
Are you affiliated with OPM or the government?
No. FERS Report is an independent educational tool operated by MyVIP Tickets LLC. We use the retirement formulas OPM publishes, but your official numbers always come from your agency HR and OPM.
Does it handle VERA, deferred, and MRA+10 retirements?
Yes — including the no-age-reduction VERA computation, when your supplement starts, deferred annuity start ages (62 / 60 / MRA), and the 5%-per-year MRA+10 reduction.
